VSS Computer Consulting (VSS Business Solutions) has recently upgraded our infrastructure in order to provide better service to our customers.

We upgraded our HP Proliant ML370 which "was our work horse for many years.  I ran our Exchange 2000-2003 server, Active Directory 2000-2003, Certificate server, Print Server and Primary File Server.  Since it had 32 bit processor and was starting to become slower as we upgraded the applications it was time to upgrade and make way for the new 64 bit processing power of Windows 2008 / Hyper-V and Exchange 2007 platforms.

We also upgraded our HP DL380 that was used for development and was our Virtual Private Server (VPS).  We had our VPN Router, Blackberry Server Services and web development virtualized on the VPS platform from Microsoft running on the Windows 2003 Server.  We still have 3 more of these HP DL380 servers in production right now but plan on Virtualizing them soon in order to fully utilize the new servers we installed and to save on electricity (Trying to be "Green").

The 2 new DELL PowerEdge 2950 servers are dual Quad core Zeon processors with 8GB RAM to stat out with.  THese are Equipped with redundant ("Green") Low Power Consumption power supplies and have 1TB of RAID5 drive space.
These 2 guys are really fast!  These also will have enough power to consolidate a few of our current servers into a virtual environment at a later date.  We do not want to have all of our eggs in one basket.

If your organization would like to discuss a migration or infrastructure upgrade please let us know!
