VSS Busness Solutions saw a need to help better organize the Rising Sun Sunfest that is held annually every year on the Second Saturday of June.

This problems with events like this one other annual event performed by non-profits groups is that the folks running the event change sometime from year to year and some of the data gets lost in the shuffle.

We developed a website (http://Sunfest.us) and a more detailed application process for vendors and other applicants in order to get all of the necessary data to populate a database that can be reused and viewed by members of the committee or organizer. This historical data can be review to better help organizing for the next years event and to help make sure no data is lost from year to year.

At the same time, as we enter the data on new vendors, entertainment. etc. the vendor list and entertainment shows up to the public as well. It benifits both the Chamber Administration, promoting the vendors and informing the public the basic who, what, were and when.

IRS EMAIL SCAM

Please be careful when recieving emails claiming they need quick response. Most Banks and especially the IRS will send a letter in the mail rather than an email for important communications (especially when it comes to accounts or money).

New Ecommerce Site goes live -Designer Stencils !

Designer Stencils new Ecommerce website went LIVE on May 20th, 2011. It is not just any E-Commerce site, this site had some very specific requirments in order to help streamline their business processes.

The first was a module that would mimic how they to take orders over the phone and process payments and special international shipping procedures.

The Next requirement was to create a QuickShip module that would allow them to scan the barcodes we implemented in the system. After they fullfill and order they would simply scan the Order Number barcode and the Tracking barcode from USPS, UPS or FedEx and it would update the order with the shipping status, tracking number and send email to customer with shipping status. This module also need the ability to track orders by looking up tracking number, date or order number to get the shipping status.

Still yet they wanted to be even more efficiant and wanted to link up a POS system to the same database so VSS Business Solutions created a bar coding system that would print labels with product SKU (both as bar code and readable text), price and name pf product. These labels would be placed on the products in the retail shop and for shows. Now they can simply scan each item into the POS and check out VIA the Ecommerce engine keeping all of the transaction securly (VIA SSL) in a single encrypted database.

The Greater Rising Sun Chamber of Commerce when live last night after a brief introduction to the members. I was please to hear that the members were very happy on the overall look, feel and funtionality. Although I did not have ample time to really show all of the backend funtionality I think they saw enought to understand the benefits.
