DFS management console throws a “the value does not fall within the expected range”

Issue:

After installing KB3186568/KB3186539 , DFS management console throws a “the value does not fall within the expected range” while creating DFS replication group

Subject:Windows Server 2012R2, Server 2016

Cause:

Bug. The fix request of this issue has been submitted internally. For windows 2016 nano server, it will be fixed in RS3 when will be release in Oct. For other version, it will be fixed through monthly updates. We will update the link in this post once the fix is released.

Workaround:

1.Uninstall KB3186568/KB3186539;

2.Create DFS replication group via PowerShell: New-DfsReplicationGroup;

3.Uninstall .NET Framework 4.7.
